— Like many of those across Indiana, public school systems in The Herald Bulletin’s coverage area have more students who qualify for free or reduced lunches than a decade ago. Here are local schools systems and the percentages of their students who qualified recently:

1997-98: 24 percent

1997-98: 14 percent
2006-07: 25 percent

South Madison
1997-98: 10 percent
2006-07: 22 percent
