The leading stepper at Eastside on Thursday took 6,950 paces. Meier encouraged students to wear their step counters every day and to focus on self-improvement.

“Be honest with yourself. It’s not about your neighbor — it’s about you,” Meier said. “Your goal tomorrow is 10,000 steps.”
