ANDERSON — Three teenagers face charges for a string of burglaries late last week.

Anderson police arrested Charles Williams Lyons, 18, Brian David Coles Jr., 18, and a 17-year-old male Friday on suspicion of burglarizing the Fraternal Order of Police lodge, 2614 Mounds Road, and an eastside home sometime between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Lyons and Coles also face charges for robbing an Anderson woman and taking her purse as she was leaving the Pay Less Supermarket, 3050 Main St., shortly before midnight on Dec. 16.

According to police, the three men walked to the FOP lodge, where Lyons pried open the window and entered the building. The two other men waited outside with Coles acting as a lookout. Items discovered missing included liquor, beer and bar equipment valued at more than $2,000, police said.

Later Friday morning, police said the three men waited in a field outside a home in the 200 block of Metro Boulevard until the resident left. Lyon entered the home through a window. Items stolen included silverware, jewelry and prescription medication, all valued at about $2,500, police said.

In recorded interviews, police said, both Coles and Lyons admitted to participating in the two burglaries and confessed to carrying out the Dec. 16 robbery.

Lyons and Coles were in custody at the Madison County Jail late Saturday.

Lyons faces possible felony charges for robbery, two counts of burglary, and two counts of theft. His bond if $20,000.

Coles possibly faces two felony burglary charges and a felony charge of aiding a robbery. His bond is $10,000.

Charges for the 17-year-old were not available Saturday.
