Muncie men sent to prison for cross-burning
INDIANAPOLIS — Three central Indiana men have been sentenced to federal prison after they pleaded guilty to burning a cross in the yard of a black family's home in 2008. Forty-one-year-old Richard LaShure was sentenced to 15 months in prison and two years probation Thursday in U.S. District Court in Indianapolis.

Fort Hood death toll climbs to 13
FORT HOOD, Texas — Soldiers who witnessed the shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" before opening fire, the base commander said Friday. Lt. Gen. Robert Cone said officials had not yet confirmed that the suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, made the comment, which is Arabic for "God is great!"
