Letter: Trilateral Commission is not a threat

Once again the old neocon stuff about the Trilateral Commission, new world order, etc., has come up. It proves that the John Birch Society mentality and other fear-mongering organizations and authors are sadly still alive out there. Some myths simply refuse to die. Visit the source, www.trilateral.org for up-to-date information on this organization, its authors, reports and practices. We have much more to fear from Cheney/Limbaugh/Rove and the likes than we do from this 390-member club.

What is important is the majority of Americans understand that we are not energy independent and entirely too reliant on the rest of the world for our standard of living. We should be concerned about leading the world away from fossil fuels, new transportation that is at least five times faster than what we have today, clean water and a sustainable future. All of this is achievable. If we allow ourselves to be distracted by promises of some easy way, or allow ourselves to succumb to the fear mongering then we are truly at risk of losing our nation.

We should not return our incumbents from Indiana to Congress. Not because they are part of some great conspiracy, but because they are individual entities that have proven they cannot function as a group in the best interest of the nation. Their closeness to the lobbying industry and remoteness from their home states can only be corrected with termination.
