It certainly appears that socialists are united in their desire to see capitalism destroyed, and Christianity along with it. The Christian view typically supports hard money, fiscal responsibility, savings, deferred gratification, and living within one’s means. The socialist view, on the other hand, represents consumption, extravagance, and not providing for the future. Keynesian economics, a significant influence in socialism, generates high national spending, debt and increased inflation. That said, most Americans realize that excessive debt and spending got us into our current mess.

Why do socialists so oppose capitalism? It’s because capitalism is founded on the concepts of profit, individualism, private property, private business, and freedom to buy and sell. Capitalism supports individual initiative versus community or group initiative. Socialism downplays the individual in favor of the group or government. Even so, throughout the years, nearly all the inventions that have blessed humanity have been developed under capitalistic enterprise rather than group or government systems.

Today, the economic dynamics in America are changing, and Karl Marx must be smiling. Although Marx died in 1883, his legacy and influence continues throughout the ages. Many Americans are completely unaware that the U.S. House of Representatives is full of large, well-organized socialist organizations. These organizations are working to destroy the American capitalist economic system, and bring production, education, food, and health care under the complete control and regulation of the federal government.

Although capitalism has been targeted, it has raised more people out of poverty than socialism, or any other system the world has yet known.
