Letter: Businessman disputes fee for trash

After repeated responses to Anderson City Utilities’ “charges” on my utility bill, I am making a final attempt to appeal to logic and propriety regarding the unnecessary and usurious monthly fee foe services which in no way apply to me.

I have paid for and continue to maintain a Dumpster on my property, which has been the case for over four decades. I do not have possession of any supplied plastic refuse containers and have no use for, nor benefit of, municipal trash collection. I therefore maintain that this is an excessive charge for services and have no intention of paying for something I have never used.

I again submit this information and, even after contacting a City Council member without results, I cling to the minimal hope that someone is listening to citizens.
