Letter: Laws should apply to all residents

On June 13, an article appeared in The Herald Bulletin, on Page A-3, regarding two boys (ages 15 and 16) who robbed the VFW Post. There is talk of a possible suit against their parents, for poor parenting.

Earlier, The Herald Bulletin published a story that related to police charges against Jeff Hardin, who tried to be a responsible parent by attempting to get his daughter to come home, when he said, and for doing what she had been told to do. If she were my child, I would have done the same thing Hardin did.

You can’t have it both ways!

Also, regarding Ollie Dixon and his concealed weapon charges, if that were one of our kids, the book would have been thrown at him. What did Dixon think they were “patting him down” for? He certainly knows police policies, laws and procedure. If he was that drunk, he should have been unconscious.

Laws apply to all citizens.
