Worry: Give it to God

What is worry? Most would agree that worry conveys a feeling of uneasiness, apprehension or dread. These feelings bring on negative thoughts of tension that grip one’s mind. It preoccupies one with painful consequences of what might happen in the future. Typically, worry centers around threats, choices, past experiences, or lack.

Why does worry occur? We worry because we’re vulnerable physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Human beings are susceptible to all kinds of conditions that can threaten one of these areas in our lives. Even so, worry is sin, and in essence, demonstrates a distrust of God.

The Bible says to cast all our burdens on the Lord. There is no situation that he cannot deal with. People need to remember that God is everywhere, that he knows all, and that he is all powerful. He wants us to trust him because he only wants the best for us and loves us so much.

Worry is actually unbelief in disguise. Instead of worry, God would have us to come to him in prayer, and cast those burdens into His hands. As we release them to him, we should replace worry with thanksgiving because we trust him to work things out. Feeling overwhelmed, then give that anxiety to the One who has the power to burst through any situation.

Trust in the Lord, and give him all your cares. He can handle each and every one of them, and bring peace into your life. Do it now.
