Sen. Tim Lanane states racism as a cause of immigration problems. He sounds like a politician with an objective. I object because I am not a racist. My objections are economics. Illegal immigration has caused major problems with our Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and educational systems.
Read about the problems in California. I have seen and heard of immigrants receiving the above benefits while Americans without insurance and jobs have been turned away for medical needs. Now, President Bush wants to lower benefits for senior citizens and people in need. These are the same benefits that Americans have paid into their entire life. Illegal immigrants as well as “pork” spending by politicians (and other questionable disbursements, waste and mishandling) is why our systems are short of funds. It has nothing to do with baby boomer either.
People need to read and seek out information to find the truth. Sen. Lanane is a disappointment by trying to label and start (whatever he is trying to start) stories of racism. I have known people from many different cultures and I have liked them all and have nothing against Mexicans, Asians, French, Japanese or others. Again, my objection is the economic burden.
We should be wary of politicians. They have no common sense or real knowledge except how to make more money for themselves or “special others.”
