Mrs. Ollie E. Ballinger



July 25, 1918 - Nov. 21, 2008



WARREN, Ind. — Ollie E. Ballinger, 90, formerly of Anderson, passed away Nov. 21, 2008, at Heritage Point in Warren, after an extended illness.



She was born July 25, 1918, in Parma, Mo., the daughter of Dodson and Aslie (Forest) Pope. She came to Tipton in 1942 and moved to Anderson in 1945. 



She worked in Noblesville for Firestone and later became a beautician in Anderson, where she owned and operated the Meadowbrook Beauty Shop. Ollie was married to Paul Nunn in 1938, who passed away in 1964. She then remarried, in 1974, to Ed Ballinger, who passed away in 2002. 



She was a member of the East Lynn Christian Church, a former member of the Elk’s Lodge Ladies’s Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and the Birthday Club. 



Survivors include her daughter, Kathy and husband Mark Heppen of Columbia City; brother, Dr. Al and wife Joyce Pope of Florida; step-daughter, Anita and husband Tony Canaday of Anderson; step-son, David and wife Ellen Ballinger of Angola; six grandchildren, including Sharon Williams and Gary and wife Claudia Heppen; step-granddaughter, Jessica Ballinger; several nieces and nephews, including Larry and Ann Blackmond of Warren; and 10 great-grandchildren.



Ollie was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; sons, Bobby Paul Nunn and Kenny Nunn; three sisters; and three brothers. 



Special thanks to Larry and Ann for their care and concerns. 



Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Susan Cameron. Burial at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.



Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.



Memorial contributions may be made to East Lynn Christian Church or to Warren Methodist Home Heritage Point
