Millbrook Tree Farm to give trees to troops

YORKTOWN — Millbrook Tree Farm will participate in the 2009 Trees for Troops program along with the Christmas Spirit Foundation and FedEx Corporation. The Yorktown farm will send its trees to the Navy Fifth Fleet stationed in Bahrain and Great Lakes Naval Station. For more information, go to christmasspiritfoundation.org.

Prevail one of first to offer new technology

MUNCIE — Prevail Prosthetics & Orthotics is one of the first companies in the nation to use the Compas Computerized Prosthesis Alignment System, the first outcome-based measurement tool designed to optimize prosthetic alignment in more than 30 years.

SCORE to finish fall workshop series

ANDERSON — The SCORE Association will finish its fall workshop schedule this month with a workshop on financials 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday and a workshop on business loans 6:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 30. Both workshops will be at the Flagship Enterprise Center, 2701 Enterprise Drive.

Brunch to feature value stream mapping

ANDERSON — The December Brunch + Learn program will be on value stream mapping, a way to identify areas of inefficiency and waste in businesses. The program is sponsored by Saint John’s Health System and hosted by Anderson University Professional Development Services and the Flagship Enterprise Center.

The program will be 8:30-11:30 a.m. Dec. 8 with registration and breakfast beginning at 8 a.m. in the Flagship Enterprise Center, 2701 Enterprise Drive. Cost is $49. Indianapolis area home sales up

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis area home sales increased by 23 percent in October compared to October 2008, according to monthly data compiled by Re/max of Indiana. This year, 2,199 homes were sold in October; last October, 1,781 homes were sold.
