ANDERSON — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Scatterfield Road clothing store Friday night.
Officers were called to The Shed, 509 S. Scatterfield Road, at about 8 p.m. after a pair of men robbed the store at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount money shortly before closing time.
Sgt. William Casey, Anderson police department spokesman, said two black men wearing bandannas over their faces entered the store, and one immediately pulled out a handgun. The second then entered and quickly cased the store to make sure the only people in the business were two female employees.
After getting an undisclosed amount of money, the men ordered the clerks to turn around and count to 500. They then fled the store in an unknown direction. No shots were fired, and neither employee was injured, Casey said.
The man armed with the handgun during the holdup is described as being about 6-feet-2, with a thin build. He was wearing a black bandanna over his face and a black hoodie. He was wearing blue “basketball-style” shorts. Casey said he was light-skinned.
The second robber is described as being about 5-feet-7 and 160 pounds. He was also wearing a black hoodie, but was not wearing a bandanna. He was wearing black basketball-style shorts. Casey said he had a dark complexion.
The clerks described both men as being young because of how their voices sounded.
