ANDERSON — Two people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash that closed Indiana 9 for about 30 minutes Wednesday between county roads 500 North and 600 North.
Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson said April Beemer, 30, Alexandria, was driving a 1995 Pontiac Transport van in the right lane of southbound Ind. 9 shortly after 6 p.m.
Richardson said Beemer turned into the path of a southbound 2004 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Jo A. Stacy, 42, Alexandria, in the left lane. The sheriff said Beemer was turning left when she crashed into Stacy’s truck.
Beemer, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Community Hospital for treatment of a head injury, Richardson said. Stacy had complaints of back, abdomen and neck pain and was also taken to Community. She was also wearing a seat belt. Both have since been released, hospital officials said.
There were five passengers in Beemer’s van. All were wearing seat belts, and none was injured. Their names weren’t released.
Richland Township first responders and Madison County Emergency Management Agency officials assisted at the scene.
